JOHN Griffiths, Newport East AM and Minister for Culture and Sport, visited a tower block Newport City Homes (NCH) is renovating as part of multi-million pound plans.

He visited NCH’s Milton Court, a sheltered scheme for older people in Ringland last week. It is being transformed as part of a £10 million investment project in partnership with Wates Living Space. The company has been nominated for a Considerate Contractor Award for its work with NCH.

Mr Griffiths said: “I was pleased to see some of the new flats under construction in Milton Court. Some residents did raise concerns about how the heating system is working at the moment, and these need to be looked into.

“I will be taking this up with Newport City Homes, and coming back to Milton Court to meet with residents to discuss this further.”

Well Done Mr Griffiths, at least the residents of our local tower block in Ringland will have a great view of another Labour rethink.

The two proposed new traveller sites will be clearly visible, but at least the residents will be a little more comfortable with the upgrades.

Anyone would think with all the money being spent there was a General Election next year, oh there is? Perhaps we will see Ed come round too.

Cynical, yes I suppose I am !
