DISRUPTION is expected in Pontypool town centre this afternoon, with a heavy load vehicle weighing 68 tonnes set to pass through the town.

The vehicle is set to pass through the town at 2pm, carrying piling rigs, with town centre roads said to be the “safest route”.

Another route was ruled unsuitable due to a small bridge which would be unable to hold the weight.

A council spokes man said the disruption would be “minor”.

“Disruption will be kept to a minimum, however if you are travelling to the town centre this afternoon please note that delays are possible and take extra care when on foot,” he said.
