TOP political show Question Time will be coming to Newport tonight with Torfaen labour councillor David Daniels amongst audience members.

The topical debate BBC television programme features politicians from at least three of the major political parties as well as other public figures who answer pre-selected questions put to them by a carefully selected audience.

Presented by David Dimbleby, confirmed panellists for the show are Conservative defence minister Anna Soubry MP, Labour's shadow education minister Rushanara Ali MP, Plaid Cymru's Westminster leader Elfyn Llwyd MP, restaurant critic and novelist Jay Rayner and columnist Melanie Phillips.

The councillor for Llantarnam has confirmed that the hit BBC show will be held at Newport’s Riverfront Theatre with audience members being told to arrive between 6pm and 6.30pm.

Cllr Daniels told the Argus that he plans to ask a question during the show and has opted to ask whether the Tories can ever be the ‘worker's party.’

Cllr Daniels added that he is not the only Torfaen resident to be attending the show, with a few people from the Torfaen area expected to attend.

“There is going to be a bunch of people there who I know from the online community but have never really met,” he said.

“I watch the show week in week out and I follow it on Twitter.

“I am constantly shouting at the TV when I watch it.

“Since it is coming to the area I thought it would be nice to see it live.”

The show will be aired on BBC One at 10.35pm tonight.
