NEWPORT County AFC players helped launch the latest version of the Mini in Newport on Thursday night.

Players including Lee Minshull and Danny Crow as well as manager Justin Edinburgh, turned out at the local Mini dealer Sytner Newport on Usk Way for the launch of the MINI Hatch, 2014’s model of the car which has gone through several evolutions since it first appeared on the road in 1959.

The car has a long British pedigree with even Mr Bean favouring it as his ride, and although now owned by German company BMW, the Hatch is produced in Oxford.

It raced to victory in four Monte Carlo rallies through the 1960s, immediately recognisable to fans of The Italian Job.
