An inquest was opened at the town hall into the death of a five year old boy who had been hit by a motor car travelling eight miles an hour on the Malpas to Newport road.

A 16 year old boy was killed in an accident at the Nine Mile Point colliery after being crushed between a tram and a door after the horse pulling the tram reared sideways.

Rumours were in circulation as to the closure of the post office in Dock Street after all the chief telegraph work was transferred to the post office in High Street.

A Malpas Road resident was summoned to court for loitering in High Street with the purpose of betting, receiving bets and settling bets.
