BBC Radio 4’s debate programme Any Questions? came live from Chepstow's Drill Hall last week.

The panellists were the leader of the Welsh Liberal Democrats Kirsty Williams, UKIP’s deputy chairman and campaigns director Neil Hamilton, Labour MP for Neath and former Cabinet minister Peter Hain and Conservative MP for Hereford Jesse Norman. The programme was hosted by Jonathan Dimbleby.

It was broadcast live at 8pm on Friday night and repeated again at 1.10pm on Saturday.

There were just over 200 people in the audience.

Topics discussed on the programme included the furore over Culture Secretary Maria Miller’s expenses, the Welsh National Health Service, the treatment of children, and the second debate held earlier in the week between Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg and UKIP’s leader Nigel Farage on the European Union.

Chepstow town councillor Ned Heywood said the BBC was “thoroughly professional” and that the panellists and staff stayed behind after the programme for a short drinks reception.

He said: “I thought it was excellent. People seemed very impressed by the event.”
