BALLOONS, bunting and a dozen pupils in their dancing shoes were all on show at Chepstow School yesterday morning as a flash mob took over the school arts hall to celebrate the launch of the school's new website.

The flash mob phenomenon is a choreographed dance by a group of people in a specific location often accompanied by musicians, which is designed to surprise and delight onlookers.

The flash mob crew at Chepstow were made up of sixth formers, many of whom had just starred in the school production of Phantom of the Opera.

As well as decorations, a banner unfurled by head teacher Claire Price, and Easter eggs sent out to local primary schools, the school also set up a giant countdown clock on the screen on stage, counting down the moment until the new-look website was launched.

The site, www.chepstowschool.net has been five months in the making and includes links to the school's Twitter feed and upcoming events which include a Sixth Form progress day tomorrow and reports to parents.
