UPDATE: Firefighters tackle grass fires in Blaenau Gwent

A SMALL GRASSFIRE broke out on a mountain close to Attlee Avenue in the Rose Heyworth area of Abertillery. A crew from Abertillery tackled the blaze just after 3pm this afternoon.
A spokesman from the service said the fire has now been extinguished and that the crew has left the area.
The Abertillery fire is near Lewis Street where around three hectares of grassland is on fire. Crews are using a hose reel and beaters.
TWO fire engines are tackling a grass fire in near homes in Swffryd this afternoon.
Crews from Abertillery and Abercarn are at the scene.
Firefighters are also tackling a grass fire in Abertillery.
