DOZENS of sportsmen and women took part in a 12-hour fundraiser at Newport International Sports Village
They enjoyed table tennis, basketball, badminton, dodgeball, football and dance as they joined a Sport Relief sportathon on Thursday.
Around 160 people had participated in the Sportathon five hours into the fundraiser.
Some tweeted they had a “great day” as children and young people joined in the fundraiser.
Children gathered at a soft play area and there were also arts and crafts sessions and face painting.
Sports village officer Lucy Donovan, 34, said: “It’s been really good.
“We have received £100 and we’re still going until 8pm.
“It’s been very busy, a real success.”
Newport Youth Sports Forum organised the fundraiser, which also featured netball and judo.
More than £53m has been raised for Sport Relief, which brings together the worlds of sport and entertainment to raise money to help vulnerable people in both the UK and the world's poorest countries.
