HUNDREDS of visitors turned out to the annual Easter family fun day at the Newport Transporter Bridge yesterday.

Parents and children alike got in on the Easter fun this Bank Holiday Monday which saw families enjoy the last of the Easter activities across Gwent.

During the day children enjoyed taking part in an Easter egg hunt to search for their chocolaty prize and were visited by the Easter Bunny who wandered around the site meeting families.

Many visitors used the day as an opportunity to walk over the top of the bridge and take in the stunning views of the city bathed in the spring sunshine.

While others took a trip across the river Usk on gondolas there especially for the Easter celebrations at the popular visitor attraction.

A spokeswoman for the Transporter Bridge said that the day was a huge success spurred on by the good weather.

“The highlight of the day was the Easter egg hunt-the children enjoyed that.

“We also had gondolas that made many trips back and forth throughout the day.

“Our next fun day will be on June 22.”
