A TEENAGER has been punched in the face in Abergavenny, in a suspected racially-motivated attack.

Gwent Police are appealing for information following an assault that took place in Albert Road, Abergavenny on Monday afternoon.

A 14-year-old boy was walking from Alexandra Road into Albert Road at around 12.30pm, when he saw three males nearby.

As he got halfway down the road one them males ran past him, turned and shoved him into another standing behind him.

This second attacker then punched him in the face. They both ran off and got into a car which is believed to have been driven by the third person.

The first male is described as white, 16-17 years-old, 5ft 10in - 5ft11in tall and medium build. He had a thin nose wearing a black zip up hoody, hood up, with white ‘graffiti’ writing on it, dark grey, baggy, jersey jogging bottoms and scruffy white trainers.

The second male is described as white 17-18 years-old, 6ft tall, skinny build, wearing mid grey pull on plain hoody with hood up, dark grey jersey baggy jogging bottoms. He had a cut under the right side of his jaw about 3cm in length which was fairly fresh.

The third assailant is described as white, 17-18 years-old, medium build, wearing purple zip up hoody with white writing on it, dark grey Nike jogging bottoms and a white baseball cap with black ‘NY’ logo on front.

The car is described as a small black hatchback - Fiesta size- with silver wheels.

Gwent Police say the assault is being treated as racially motivated, but would not comment as to the race of the victim or their reasons for this.
