CALDICOT pupils donned their wellies and dressed as pirates, cowboys and even Harry Potter to take part in a sponsored welly wellie- walk.

Nearly 200 children and their teachers at Castle Park Primary completed laps of the school playing field yesterday (WED) to raise funds for The Friends of Castle Park.

The event was organised by the group, which is made up of volunteers, and pupils were sponsored by family and friends to take part while whilst pledging to walk various laps of the playing field.

The school’s deputy head teacher, Jon Keohane, said: “All of the pupils looked splendid in their outfits and it was great to see so many parents supporting them during the event.”.

“The Friends of Castle Park are a hard working group of parents who support the school in providing the best possible educational experience for all of our wonderful pupils”.”

The money collected will be used by the Friends to purchase outdoor seating, which should to enable learning to take place in the school grounds and for pupils to socialise during play and lunchtimes.
