THE trial of two men charged with conspiracy to commit fraud and false accounting at Blaenavon’s Shared Resource Service (SRS) continues today.

Farooq Dastgir, 53, of Coed Camlas, Pontypool and Gary Inchliffe, 52, of Beechcroft, Trelewis are charged with false accounting.

Dastgir is also charged with misconduct in a public office.

Both Dastgir and Inchliffe have previously pleaded not guilty to all the charges.

The trial continues at Cardiff Crown Court today.

The SRS at Victoria House, Blaenavon, was opened in 2011 and was designed to be the IT nerve centre for Torfaen and Monmouthshire councils and Gwent Police.
