RESIDENTS and visitors in Caerphilly county borough are being encouraged to ‘Choose the High Street’ through a campaign to raise awareness of what is on offer in the area’s town centres.
The aim is to stress the importance of consumer choice and build on sustained town centre use during the past couple of years.
Last summer Blackwood saw an increase in people, from 715,229 in 2012 to 762,570 (6.6 per cent).
“We remain committed to keeping our economies thriving, and this campaign aims to encourage residents and visitors to our county borough to utilise our town centres,” said councillor Ken James, cabinet member for regeneration.
The council-run campaign is also geared to actively encouraging businesses to open in town centres.
Simon and Trish Fowler, owners of Must Have Music and Impact, have recently relocated their business onto Blackwood High Street.
“We are proud to be part of the Choose the High Street campaign.” said Mr Fowler.Details on the ‘Choose the High Street’ campaign are at caerphilly.gov.uk or by calling 01443 866213.
