South Wales Argus: Stop-start traffic for 32 miles on the M4 Stop-start traffic for 32 miles on the M4

DRIVERS are warned of stop-start traffic for 32 miles on the M4 westbound between J18 at Bath and J26 at Malpas.

The extra traffic could be explained by the combination on Bank Holiday weekend traffic, plus motorists heading towards Cardiff for this evening's Rugby Match between Bath and Northampton.

Forgive me for thinking that Britain is a bit too crowded to stick to traditional bank holiday days off any more, to go anywhere now is a nightmare of jams and scams.
Maybe it's time we extended the flexitime idea and awarded a day off to be taken at any time over the year thus spreading the load.
The same could be said for school holidays too - even if only to avoid the 'twice the price' penalty perpetrated on everybody with children who like to go on holiday.
