A FAMILY was among the special guests at the official opening of a charity boutique shop in Abergavenny.
Liorah McCarthy, brother Ashton and mum Tegan from Blaenavon attended the opening of the boutique, run by childrens’ charity Ty Hafan, on Frogmore Street.
Seven-year-old Liorah was referred to Ty Hafan, the Welsh family hospice for young lives, when she was three. She suffered a seizure three hours after being born and had two major strokes shortly after.
Although unable to walk or talk, she charms everyone she meets with her warm character and beautiful smile.
The family has benefitted from Ty Hafan’s services, including short-break care at the hospice and music and play therapy at home.
Liorah’s picture, taken at the hospice, is incorporated in the design of the shop.
Mum, Tegan said: “Ty Hafan is amazing. The support, the staff and the hospice are all fantastic and I’m so grateful for everything they do for Liorah and the whole family.”
