THE Fine Seafood Company has recalled its Whiskey Cured and Oak Smoked smoked salmon because of high levels of listeria monocytogenes.
The bacterium can cause illness in groups of people, such as pregnant women, unborn and newborn babies, and anyone with reduced immunity, particularly the over-60s.
The company’s 70g grey-coloured packs are the only products that have been recalled and are the only products known to be affected, the Food Standards Agency (FSA) said. It has issued a Product Recall Information Notice.
If you have bought the product, do not eat it and return it for a full refund.
