LLANWERN High welcomed those in the construction trade to celebrate the success of the modern school building yesterday.
The school, which recently celebrated its second anniversary, held presentations for Constructing Excellence in Wales to discuss the school's sites state-of-the-art facilities.
The £29 million school has a dance studio, fitness suite, photography suite and 3rd generation artificial sports pitch to cater for the 1,000 pupils who attend.
Peter Jenkins, headmaster, said: "It has been absolutely superb, we have seen tremendous improvements in the standard of the pupils."
People involved in the construction industries, local authorities and education took part in the seminars.
Hayden Ames, project manager for Newport City Council and one of the speakers, said: "It has absolutely been quite a success. It has not only had educational benefits but for the community and the wider locality.
"This seminar is to see the impact the school has had on staff and pupils in the last two years it has been open. The benefits in the usage have increased dramatically with state of the art educational resources and facilities."
