GWENT students will battle to be crowned Wales Young Enterprise Company of the Year tomorrow at the regional finals in Cardiff.
The winners will go on to represent Wales at the final on July 1 in London.
Young Enterprise, the UK’s largest enterprise education charity, sees 250,000 students from all over the country set up and run real businesses with the support of mentors.
Crownbridge Special School, Heolddu Comprehensive and Rougemont School are all taking part, with help from business volunteers.
Rougemont have created ‘Evinco’, a Welsh children’s book to help learn the language at home, and the enterprise is currently in discussions with a number of schools regarding orders.
Hannah Brunnock, the team’s managing director said she believes they have found a gap in the market.
Welsh Government is the lead sponsor for this year’s Welsh final.
Economy minister Edwina Hart said: “The Welsh Government is committed to supporting and developing an entrepreneurial culture amongst our young people.”
The overall winners will visit the headquarters of Asda to meet staff and learn how a big business works.
