SHE MAY be a Hollywood A-lister but Faye Dunaway doesn't stand on ceremony.
The Oscar winner, famed for her roles in Bonnie and Clyde, China Town and The Thomas Crown Affair, had a hug for Gwent butcher Philip Joliffe as she filmed her latest movie.
Pontypool's Commercial Street became a film set and Miss Dunaway ran through her lines just a few feet from shoppers.
Ystrad Mynach-born film maker David Howard is making a crime movie with a supernatural twist using Pontypool and Newbridge as backdrops.
The movie, Flick, tells the story of a local man murdered during the 1950s who is resurrected to the present day and sets out to find his teenage sweetheart. Miss Dunaway plays a detective.
Other stars in the film include John Woodvine, Mark Benton, Geoffrey Hughes and Anna Karen.
Denise Goode, of Brynwern, stole a kiss from Geoffrey Hughes - better known as Onslow from Keeping Up Appearances.
"He called me a sexy beast," she laughed.
The film crew have taken over a former insurance office and turned it into a record shop.
Miss Dunaway flew into the country five days ago.
Producer Rik Hall said: "She's got everybody raising their game - she's just so focused on her work."
The veteran actress is scheduled to be in Pontypool next Tuesday for more filming, before flying home later that day.
