GWENT Police are appealing for help in finding a man who failed to return to a Gwent prison yesterday, having been on day release.

Scott Johnson, 34, is serving a 10-year sentence at HMP Prescoed for wounding and false imprisonment, having been convicted at Birmingham Crown Court in 2011. He is not a registered sex offender.

He is white, of medium build, five feet nine inches tall with blue eyes and a shaved head.

He has contacts in the Worcester area.

If anyone sees him or knows of his whereabouts they are advised not to approach him but to call police on 01633 838111 quoting log 256 08/07/14

What the devil is wrong with the Authorities allowing such a Prisoner reside in an open day release so called prison. Did he take his Playstation/Sky Box and other supplied Electronics with him.
