TRISH LAW was endorsed by the People's Voice group to stand in Blaenau Gwent at May's Assembly election.
The widow of AM and MP Peter Law notched up a resounding victory over Labour when she won the Assembly seat by 4,464 votes last June.
She told a meeting of the Blaenau Gwent People's Voice group in Ebbw Vale Rugby Club that she felt compelled to stand again at the Assembly polls on May 3.
Mrs Law said she had been inundated with pleas from well-wishers to stand for another four-year term.
"The response I've had from people has been remarkable," she said.
"It's as though people expect me to stand again, and I feel there is no way I can let them down."
Mrs Law will take on Labour candidate Keren Bender.
