A GWENT family had a lucky escape when a car ran into their living room.
The incident happened at 5.45pm last night when a silver Renault coupe rolled into a mid terrace house on Lower Courtland Terrace, Llanhilleth.
Callum Harris, his girlfriend and their baby were said to have been in the house at the time.
Emergency services rushed to the scene and cordoned off the area.
South Wales Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that no one was in the car at the time of the crash.
A neighbour in the nearby Llanhilleth Hotel when friends came running in to tell of the accident.
"I couldn't believe it when they told us it was on my street," she said. "I came straight home to see what was going on. Thank God no-one was hurt."
Ron Selway, of Commercial Road, said: "I was taking a walk when I saw all the commotion so I went to see what was going on. The car was in a right mess. Someone could easily have been hurt."
A recovery vehicle took the wreckage away. Blaenau Gwent Council's structural engineers were surveying the damage to the property.
