FIREFIGHTERS tackled several deliberate grass fires overnight.
The first was at at 9.35pm behind the golf club on Ty Pwca Road in Pontnewydd. A Cwmbran crew tackled the fire using beaters.
Another golf club was the scene of a blaze at 12.02am when a crew from Brynmawr were called to Monmouthshire Golf Club on Pont Road, Winchestown.
Firefighters used a hosereel to put out the blaze.
At 12.40am refuse was deliberately set alight in front of Bryngwyn Primary School in Six Bells.
A crew from Abertillery crew tackled the fire using hosereels.
