AN ANNUAL music festival in Caerleon was played by a number of Newport bands on Saturday.

The Newport High School Old Boys (NHSOB) Summer Festival was held for the third time at the rugby club’s ground on Yew Tree Lane.

As part of the festival an AC/DC tribute band, Bristol’s Hells Bells, Joe Robert Lewis, Innovence, Tobias Robertson and Taffy Was A Thief rocked out.

Last year a larger stage increased the festival’s capacity and groups including Houdini Dax and 4th Street Traffic played its main stage.

The NHSOB club was first founded in time for the 1923/24 season and it has played at its current ground on Yew Tree Lane since 1949. And membership was first opened to people who were not Old Boys of Newport High School in the mid-1960s and by the early 1970s the club had four senior teams.
