140 new jobs for Cwmbran

First published in News by

A CWMBRAN-based call centre is looking to increase its staff roll by a third with a major recruitment drive.

We Fight Any Claim (WFAC), which is based at Tintern House on Llantarnam Park, currently employs 419 people and is looking to employ 100 new full-time and 40 part-time staff. Recruitment for the posts has already started.

The company reclaims mis-sold Payment Protection Insurance (PPI) for UK customers and has introduced its Work Small Live Big campaign to provide an improve working environment and enhance their staff’s work-life balance.

And as part of changes at the company, full times hours will decrease from 40 to 35 hours per hours – but there will be no reduction in salaries.

Recruitment for the new posts will start immediately and WFAC said it anticipates support more staff positions will become available as a result of the recruitment drive.

The announcement came on the same day that figures showed unemployment in Wales has fallen by 3,000 to 97,000 to the three months to June.

And WFAC head of communications, Simon Evans, said: “As a progressive, major employer of young people in South East Wales, we are delighted to announce a number of new roles here, and added to that we are excited to be basing those roles around a sensible work-life balance agenda.

“We have seen the talent available in the local economy, and we are keen to recruit from the widest range of talent available, and as a result we are creating a number of part-time roles that we hope will help attract parents back into the working environment, as we value the experience that they can bring to our business.

“This is just the beginning of moving towards a truly agile working environment for our staff, and we will continue to introduce new initiatives that will be of benefit to our current and future staff, and to the wider economy.”

So can I expect a 30% increase in the number of cold calls I get telling me that I was mis-sold PPI on a loan I never took out?

definately false promises, I worked their as a parent on my second week I was told if I didnt process a certain amount of claims I wouldnt be aloud to go home until I had! I told them as a mother obtaining child care would be difficult if I wouldn't know my finish time would be so I left I had to get them to release me because they said if I quit they would not pay me for the weeks training I had.

The training reminded me off being in school, the trainer tried to take my mobile phone off me said were not aloud to have them on us! I said as a mother I always need my phone in case of an emergency, he then compromised by just taking the battery out of it!!

Thank my lucky stars I was only there for 2 weeks!!!

Robodad, All of our numbers are sourced from providers who have spoken to customers, so we do not cold call. If we call you in error, please let us know and we will suppress your number.

I can only apologise for what seems like a dreadful experience you had ! All I can say is that things have changed - and more importantly - the culture has changed. We now are offering over 40 part time roles specifically aimed at working parents, and we are reducing hours to allow a greater work life balance.

I was a quality assessor there when it was changing from Beneficial Claims to WFAC. Biggest load of hell EVER. I had to walk out for my own sanity. The company ethics and morals are disgusting. I've gladly moved on to bigger and better things, away from the money grabbing Chorlton brothers who use bully tactics and do anything to get around rules and regulations. To work there has got to be the appitomy of desperation. Can't believe I wasted 10 months of my life there
