VINTAGE car lovers across the country will be eagerly anticipating the 34th and final Annual Vintage and Specialist Car Rally in Newport this September.

On September 21 car fans will be treated to a fantastic display of vintage and classic cars, sports cars, motorcycles, military and commercial vehicles among others at Tredegar House.

Since its very small beginnings in 1980, the Vintage Rally has raised £788,000 for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research, taking the total amount raised by Gwent Branch to over £1,052,000.

A spokesman said: “ After 34 years, we have decided that the 2014 Rally will be the final one.

“This does not mean that we will stop raising money The Gwent Branch will still be functioning, but maybe just in a less demanding way. “

From 10.30am to 5.30pm stand-out vehicles on display this year will include a 1906 Renault 10/14, a 1922 Bentley 3 litre sports, a 1928 Alvis 14/75.

Families will also enjoy the event with children’s events such as a craft marquee, children's rides and amusements and a wide range of stalls and trade stands

Visitors will also be able to enjoy various Living History Encampments, ranging through the English Civil War, the American Civil War, WW1and WW2, with the opportunity to see how these soldiers and their families lived.

A full range of arena activities is planned, including, a parade of vehicles, and a vintage and classic car auction run by Newport Auctions, who will be donating all their fees and commissions to Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research.
