PROTEST: Ukrainians will march against agression by Vladimir Putin's Russia

First published in News

UKRAINIAN citizens plan to march in national dress tomorrow to keep the spotlight on "Russian aggression against Ukraine".

Terry Brown, who will be taking part, said: “The demonstration coincides with the Nato summit to highlight the risks to the European Union and NATO members.”

The Ukrainian and British protesters people taking part will wear blue and yellow, the colours of the Ukrainian flag, and some will wear national dress.

From 11am until 7pm tomorrow they will be at Westgate Square in the city centre. Some will leave to join the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament march on the Celtic Manor during the afternoon.

The march has been registered with Gwent Police.

Putin's regime is also homophobic and seems pathologically paranoid about LGBTQ people. Personally, I suspect this is down to some deep personal insecurities on Putin's part, as men who are comfortable in their masculinity and confident of their sexuality don't tend to see gay and transgender people as a threat in the way that weak and frightened individuals like Putin do. Many people in central and eastern Europe want to move forwards rather than in the backward direction that the Putin regime has taken Russia. Since Putin and his gang seem so scared of gay and transgender people, perhaps instead of NATO sending an army to protect Russia's neighbours from any further incursions, all they need do is host one, giant LGBTQ mardi gras all along the Russian border - the homophobes would run all the way back to Moscow!
