A NEWPORT teenager is taking on a new business venture - in dove releasing.

Connor Marsh, 15, holds a lifelong passion for wildlife and has spent the past five months training six white homing pigeons to see through his ambition.

This comes after Connor’s grandfather, Jeffrey Till , died earlier this year and Connor used the money he received from his grandfather’s will for the business.

And it is already proven a success with the teenager taking numerous requests.

Connor’s mother, Cheryl, 41, of Maesglas Avenue, said: “It’s really given him a focus at such a good age.

“He’s taken them to different venues to give them plenty of flight time to return home and they always do.

“His other granddad had birds and it’s something he instilled in him. If Connor saw a bird with a broken wing, he’d fix it. He’s a good-natured boy.”

The Marshs are now hopeful that the business can continue to grow.

Mrs Marsh , mother of four boys, said: “It started as a pipe dream, but the novelty hasn’t worn off.

“It’s been a sentimental thing with his granddad, and there’s not a terrible lot out there for young people.

“He’s enjoying it that much that I know he’ll continue to do it whatever happens."
