UPDATE: 9.08am
Queueing traffic is reported for eight miles due to the earlier crash.
All lanes have now been re-opened.
A lane was also blocked on the A48(M) before M4 J29 by a four-vehicle shunt. Emergency services have moved the vehicles and re-opened the lane but delays have stretched back to Cardiff and will take a long time to clear.
UPDATE: 7.57am
A LANE is closed on the M4 eastbound between J27, B4591 (Highcross) and J26, A4051 (Malpas Road), because of a multi-vehicle accident.
Congestion is stretching to J28, A48 (Tredegar Park).
Delays are being caused by people slowing to look at the crash on the opposite side of the road.
Congestion to J25, A4042 (Caerleon).
There is also queuing traffic on the A467 in Newport and on the A48 (M) before J29.
