STC Musical Society's annual revue, Most Wonderful Time of the Year was just the tonic on a damp winter's evening. The society is only a few years off celebrating its 60th anniversary, and their years of experience are evident in the way in which they always play to their strengths - and they certainly know how to please an audience.

This year's revue took us through a medley of numbers from each season of the year, and in the capable hands of director Lesley Reynolds, we started our journey at a New Year party and travelled full circle through the year to end at a Christmas party.

Full credit must go to John Murray and his orchestra whose subtle accompaniment allowed the performers to shine.

This particular company is blessed with some great vocal talent, and soloists, Luke Farley, Yonne Challingsworth, Tony Reynolds, Chris Powell, Ruth Barton and Kelly Sheppard didn't fail to hit the spot.

Peter Hourahine again demonstrated immense versatility in his role as compere as well as bringing a tear to the eye with his trademark solo, Autumn Leaves.

The company are at their best with the rousing, theatrical numbers, and At the End of the Day and Lovely Ladies ( Les Miserables) along with Put on Your Sunday Clothes (Hello Dolly) and Seasons of Love (Rent) were memorable.

Well choreographed, with the Doolally Tappers showing that dance can be enjoyed by anyone at any age, the show certainly has something for everyone.

You have until Friday to catch up with it.
