RESIDENTS in Gwent could be forced to give an extra 3.99 per cent of their council tax paid to the police next year.
A Gwent Police and Crime Panel meeting will be held in Newport this morning to decide whether or not to pursue with the proposals.
It will see residents having to pay an £8 increase on their bill in a Band D property.
