Police launch investigation in Alway
UPDATE: 3.22pm
A Gwent Police spokeswoman said they were investigating an alleged sexual assault on a 12-year-old girl from Newport, which is believed to have happened near Alway shops yesterday afternoon.
The girl is being supported by specialist officers she said.
UPDATE: 1.14pm
POLICE have cordoned off a site outside a doctor's surgery in Alway today.
Police including a scientific investigations team is currently on the scene.
They have cordoned off the rear garden area behind the Beechwood Primary Care building.
A resident who did not want to be named said she saw police at 7am this morning at the doctors surgery.
