THE boss of a Nantyglo waste company has pleaded guilty to six allegations that he breached an environmental permit, but has denied two others.
Adrian Lewis, director of A. Lewis Waste Management and Skiphire, in Blaenant Road, has been charged with a total of eight counts of breaches of an environmental permit between October 9, 2013 and October 15, 2014.
Lewis, aged 42, of Waun-Ebbw Road, Nantyglo, appeared in Newport Crown Court.
Lewis pleaded guilty to two counts: a failure to ensure waste on the site complied with permitted limits, and; a failure to comply with an enforcement notice.
He also pleaded guilty to four counts alleging the company commissioned unpermitted depositing of waste at Blaenant Industrial Estate and failed to ensure waste on the site complied with the permitted limit.
But Lewis pleaded not guilty to two counts he failed to ensure storage of waste was on impermeable pavements with a sealed drainage system.
Lewis has been released on conditional bail and his trial will begin on Tuesday, September 1, at Newport Crown Court.
