CRIME-FIGHTING charity Crimestoppers is offering a reward of up to £3,000 for information passed through its hands that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for over 20 burglaries that have taken place in the Osbaston area of Monmouthshire over a period of nine months.

The burglaries have been ongoing in the area since the beginning of June 2014, with one of them seeing a man assaulted after he saw movement in a neighbour’s house and a car parked outside.

He was attacked after a man got out of the parked car, described as a black Lexus/saloon, and was joined by a number of other men. He was struck in the arm with a baseball bat, but did not suffer serious injuries.

Crimestoppers is now offering a reward of up to £3,000 for information passing though its 0800 555 111 number, leading to the arrest and conviction of the people responsible.

Stuart Taylor, chairman for Crimestoppers’ committee in Wales, said: “For this gang of individuals to have committed so many offences over such a long period of time is unacceptable.

“People should be allowed to feel that they and their belongings are safe within their homes, and this is why Crimestoppers is offering this reward and appealing for the public’s help in catching those responsible. Tell us what you know anonymously, we don’t want to know who you are.”

If you have any information on the crimes, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or through its anonymous online form at www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
