INFANTS at St Patrick’s RC Primary School in Newport celebrated Palm Sunday this week with a prayer reading.
In the whole school celebration pupils joined together to hear the story of Palm Sunday and take part in prayers and hymns lead by year one and two on Monday.
“The prayer service is following through Holy Week where all different classes are taking a different aspect,” teacher Sarah Euden said.
“Palm Sunday is the more joyful celebration.
“Year two pupils will be doing the readings sharing the story of Palm Sunday.”
The pupils also sang songs and waved palm crosses during the service which they had made themselves.
On Thursday pupils will be talking part in an Easter bonnet competition where they will bring in homemade bonnets to be judged.
