A MAN suffered from a fractured eye socket after he and a woman were attacked in a Newport park.

Gwent police are appealing for information following the incident which happened in a small park in West Street, in the early hours of Sunday, February 15.

The man and woman were assaulted by three people who were part of a larger group of people who had gathered in the park.

The woman was punched to the face, and the man sustained a fractured eye socket and substantial bruising.

They both received treatment at the Royal Gwent Hospital and have since been released.

The offenders are described as being an Asian man and two white females, although there were more people present.

Officers are keen to speak to the two women pictured in the CCTV who they believe may have been in the area at the time and may be able to assist with enquiries.
