BOSSES at the Royal Welsh Agricultural Society are doing their bit to raise funds by taking part in a Chief Exec’s Challenge in Gwent.

Steve Hughson and Aled Jones will donning their trainers on Saturday, May 23 for a days worth of tough and demanding activities.

This year's challenge will take place in Gwent after the society chose it as its 'Feature County' for 2015.

Starting at 8am, the challenge will include a two-hour trip in a two-man canoe down the River Wye, a one-hour bike ride to Chepstow Castle, an army climbing wall, a tandem bike ride with other members of the Gwent organising committee, a golf contest and a zip wire tree top challenge at the Celtic Manor Resort.

Chief Executive Steve Hughson said: "We are always humbled and astonished by the hard work and incredible efforts of the Royal Welsh feature counties each year.

"Not only do they promote and raise the profile of the society, but they also work tirelessly fundraising for money which goes towards improving site here at the showground. This year Gwent are raising money to improve the equine facilities.”

Aled Jones, assistant chief executive, said: "By taking on this challenge once again we are able to say a big thank you for the fundraising efforts of the feature county and aim to contribute to their total by getting sponsored to complete these action-packed challenges.”
