NINE Abergavenny friends cycled 160 miles across Wales to raise more than £3,000 for charity.
The all-male group came up with idea to cycle from the Sugarloaf Mountain in Abergavenny to Snowdon in North Wales in three days for a cause close to their hearts.
Zach Mills, 20, Gareth Downey, 19, Matt Botting, 20, Joe Williams, 19, Brandon Hillier, 20, Jos Mills, 18, Rhod Boggust, 20, Toby Purvis, 19 and Tomos Compton, 19 decided to cycle from the Sugarloaf Mountain in Abergavenny to Snowdon in North Wales in three days for a cause close to their hearts. take on the challenge to raise funds for research into Crohn’s Disease after a friend was diagnosed with the condition while they were all in school together.
On the fourth day of their trip the group decided to climb Snowdon wearing charity t-shirts and carrying collection buckets to raise an additional £346 and a total of £3,102.87.
Mr Mills said: “We have all witnessed the effects Crohn’s Disease can have on a person’s life and the thought of helping those suffering spurred us on in our last few miles”.
The cash raised will be donated to Kings College London towards research into creating a vaccine that could offer a cure for the condition.
