A NEWPORT not for profit organisation which helps disabled people all over the world is holding a Transporter Bridge walk to fundraise for disabled children in Kenya.

ResponsABLE Assistance, which works to help disabled people in developing countries and disaster zones, has already bought a much-needed dairy cow for a school in Kenya after their last one passed away two weeks ago.

And the organisation also revealed they have partnered up the school, called St Michael Kevote in Embu, Kenya, with specialist Crownbridge School in Croesyceilliog in order to increase links between the two areas.

But the organisation said their reserves have been "seriously depleted" after they sent three tons of medical and mobility equipment to Nepal earlier this year to help disabled people following the earthquake.

ResponsABLE said funds are now desperately needed to send a container of mobility equipment, which is already loaded and ready to ship, over to Kenya.

They are holding a walk across the Newport Transporter Bridge on Saturday, August 15 to help raise some of the £6,800 funds which is needed to ship, distribute and continue their help in Kenya.

The organisation bought the £300 cow for the school which is used to produce fresh milk. The milk is used to help subsidise the cost of accommodating disabled children who are unable to travel daily to school.
