NatWest customers have been left struggling to login to their online banking.

Frustrated customers took to Twitter this morning to complain of problems accessing their account online and making payments.

The bank said it was "aware of the issue" and that its team was "working hard to fix this".

Others have remarked that the bank's website appears to be running slowly.

It marks the latest in a series of IT issues that have beset the bank, which is part of the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) group.

Just last month, 600,000 RBS and NatWest customers were left fuming after payments either never arrived or failed to send.

Last year RBS was fined £56 million by regulators for an issue dating back to 2012, when customers were left unable to access their accounts.
