A fire brigade rescue boat in action
A TEENAGE girl was taken into police custody after being found in a "precarious position" on a bridge in Newport last night.
Specialist boat rescue teams were called in but the incident ended safely, South Wales Fire and Rescue Service said.
The incident unfolded near Kingsway at around 8.15pm and firefighters left the scene at about 10.45pm.
A South Wales Fire and Rescue Service said today that the girl was taken into the custody of the police.
A spokeswoman added: "Specialist boat rescue teams were called to a teenager in a precarious position on a bridge over water in Newport at 20.14, it all ended safely."
