A POPULAR Abergavenny trader who has raised thousands for charity and organised community events has decided to hang up her coffee pot after almost a decade.

Fiona Beavan, who ran The Miserable Cow coffee bar in the town’s Cibi Walk, has decided to move onto pastures new.

Mrs Beavan, who recently raised more than £4,000 for the Stroke Association by shaving her head and is behind the annual Easter Bonnet Parade, said she has had an amazing time running the coffee bar and has made many friends but feels it is time to pursue other avenues.

Mrs Beavan, who originates from Hampshire, said: “Over the years I have met some wonderful people who were fellow business owners, councillors, and many members of the community groups.

“I will leave with many fond memories and photos of having created events like the Easter Bonnet parade, being a part of the towns Christmas parade, helping with Halloween parties in the shopping precinct, and joining in the excellent traders cycle race plus supporting the Abergavenny Food Festival.”

She thanked those who have supported her in various fundraising events, especially her staff and added: “I will miss you all.”
