FLOOD warnings have been issued for the Wye Estuary at Tintern and Chepstow for this evening.
Natural Resources Wales have also issued a flood alert for the Usk Estuary in Newport where they expect the high tide to reach 7.6 metres at 9.20pm today. High tide at Chepstow will be 25 minutes later than in Newport and Tintern will be 45 minutes later than in Newport.
The previous high tide at Newport reached a level of 7.2 metres at 9am this morning. Due to the predicted levels for the next high tides the alerts will remain in force until at least Tuesday’s evening high tide.
The Met Office predicts it will be a clear night with heavy rain on Wednesday.
