OFFICERS in Blackwood and Risca are appealing for information and warning motorists to be vigilant after several incidents of car crime over the last week.

Motorists are being reminded to ensure that their vehicles are locked and secure, and items (especially those of high value) are kept out of view when unattended It comes after a black Suzuki Vitara was stolen from Bridge Street, Blackwood, and located in the Gelligaer area on September 4.

A 20-year-old man from Gelligaer has been arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle. He has since been released on police bail pending further enquiries. (log 25 04/09/15).

A silver Fiat Doblo was broken into sometime between 7.30pm on September 5 and 10.30am on September 6 on Markham Crescent, Oakdale. A Tom Tom sat nav was stolen. (log 180 06/09/15).

A black Mercedes and a silver VW Golf were entered on Waungoch Road, Oakdale in the early hours of September 6. A DVD player was stolen from the Mercedes. Both vehicles had been left insecure. (log 207 06/09/15).

A black Mitsubishi, left insecure, was entered on Cwm Cottages, Hafodrynys sometime between 12.00am and 7.30am on September 6. Money was stolen. (log 123 06/09/15).

A red Ford Escort was broken into on Aster Close, Risca sometime between 5pm and 9.20pm on September 7. Nothing was stolen. (log 529 07/09/15).

A blue Citroen Saxo, left insecure, was stolen from Central Avenue, Pantside, Newbridge sometime between 3.10pm on September 7 and 11am on September 9. (log 120 08/09/15).
