I FIND it shocking and disappointing that Bassaleg School, allegedly one of the best in the area, and the place that parents move near to in order to be in the catchment area, cannot even finish the painting of their gates.
The job was started half-heartedly during half term, when painters were seen putting the primer on.
One of them put a few strokes of black paint on one railing of the gate, and that was it.
So the entry to the school is now just made up of pink primer.
How very lacklustre, and what a poor example to set kids.
If the school doesn’t care about it’s image then why should the pupils who walk through those gates every morning. Hardly setting a good example to them is it.
