A MONMOUTH running club is organising its annual Santa fun run for this Sunday, December 6.
Spirit of Monmouth Running Club is this year organising the event for local charity Home-Start Monmouthshire - who will also be entering the team.
Hundreds of Santas will gather on Monnow Bridge for a 10am start of the 2.1 km route up through Monnow Street, across Vauxhall Fields and a finish back at Monnow Bridge.
Last year hundreds of people took part and the event usually raises around £1,000 for charity.
Home-start Monmouthshire is an independent registered charity that supports struggling families in the county with at least one child under five. The small staff
team recruits and trains local volunteers and carefully matches them with local families who need support. The scheme is managed by a board of volunteer trustees and is responsible for raising all its own running costs.
Fancy dress at the run is optional and organisers are urging people to bring as many family and friends as possible. Mince pies and chocolate rolls will be on offer.
