MAGOR Brewery invited a community fundraiser to switch on their Christmas lights.

The event formed part of AB InBev UK’s partnership with Hospice UK.

Through a combination of fundraising and volunteering, AB InBev UK’s nearly 1,000 employees are given the opportunity to help out at their local hospice, with the company matching every pound employees raise through fundraising activities.

Each AB InBev UK site across the country has been matched with a local hospice which helps to forge closer links between employees and their communities.

Following the switch-on by Tania Ansell from St David’s Hospice, she joined staff from the brewery for a festive reception.

The community fundraiser said: “I am delighted to have been invited to turn on the Magor Brewery Christmas lights. The event was a lovely opportunity to celebrate the end of a successful year of working together in the community.”

Tony Monteiro, brewery manager, said: “We are honoured to welcome Tania from St David’s Hospice to the Brewery and thank her for all their hard work over the last year.

“We wish everyone at St David’s and within the Magor community a merry Christmas and look forward to even more fundraising and volunteering in 2016.”
