Huw Lewis has joined the board of Cardiff Aiport as financial director.

He will report to Debra Barber, recently confirmed as managing director and chief operating officer, and this appointment follows the announcement of Spencer Binns, as commercial director, leading on all aeronautical and non-aeronautical business development.

All three executives will sit on the board of the Airport alongside the three non-executive directors.

Roger Lewis, chairman of Cardiff Airport, said: "Huw brings significant strategic and financial development experience to the company. This key appointment compliments the skills and background of our managing director and commercial director, both experts in the management and development of our airport and aeronautical business.

"As a board we continue to develop our overarching strategy to deliver to Wales a thriving airport of which we are all proud."

Debra Barber said: “Huw joins us at an exciting time in the airport’s development. I am delighted that he is joining the executive team. Huw has a very impressive background, he brings with him a wide range of skills and a strong relationship focus, which will be a vital asset to the airport as our strategy for success evolves. We are very much looking forward to working with him and I am very pleased to welcome him to our team”.

Huw Lewis said: “I am honoured to be joining such a vibrant and committed team. Cardiff Airport is the national airport for Wales and is indeed moving onto its next phase of growth, to be part of this journey is an exciting prospect and I can’t wait to get started!”
