Grassfires were started 'deliberately
FIRE fighters used beaters to put out several grass fires across Gwent today.
The South Wales Fire and Rescue Service was called to a fire at Bedwellty Road in Cefn Fforest at 3pm followed by a ‘deliberately’ lit fire in Abertridwr, near Caerphilly at 3.30pm and Highfields Way in Blackwood just before 4pm. Deliberate fires were also reported near Duffryn Infant School in Newport at 5.30pm and another just minutes later in Pontllanfraith, near Blackwood.
